SAVE YOUR BEES
My Save Your Bees - Pollinator Adventures!
I wanted to make a small difference in my local community just outside Minneapolis and I believe I was successful but either way I really enjoyed it!
Project 1 - Goal 1,000 sq. ft
I set out to plan at least 1,000 square feet of bee pollinator heaven at house. First step - get family approval. Done! Next .. raise a few dollars to help pay for the cost of the new plans or pay for it myself .. Done! Final step .. buy the flowers and get planting!

Project 2. Put Up Education Signs
I struggled with how to design the signs, what company to use, what style and quality of sign .. such tough choices! That said, once my dad help me get setup with Vista Print it went fast! I funded the signs with my tip money from Starbucks and a few weeks later .. signs in hand!
Next my dad and I went to Home Depot and picked up some posts and cement (those things are never moving!). A few hours later and BAAAMM the signs are up. The neighborhood has been so kind with comments. Very positive! I closed things up by planting a few more flowers and putting out some bee houses.

Project 3. Instagram Account
I setup an Instagram account to showcase some of the bees and flowers in my yard and it has been so fun to see it grow. I have Instagram followers from across the globe. Germany, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico. It was been fun to see it grow but also to follow other bee lovers.

This is a view from above my bee education signs. It goes in front of a path that is about 5 miles in length around a beautiful lake.

Project 4. Honey Bee Fun!
I met one of the nicest people ever! Our neighbor (about a 10 minute walk from our house) has honey bees and invited me over to visit. Kate, thank you for the wonderful time and teaching me so much about honey bees. The honey is also great tasting! Support your local bee keepers!!!

My neighborhood bee keeper "Kate" showing me how the worker bees operate. It was an incredible experience.
